Aliteco has been dealing with lasers since the ‘80s and engaged them in a number of cases in military, scientific and industrial fields. Of significant impact the application of low-power lasers in the glass industry. Already licensed to one asian mobile-phone manufacturers, Aliteco can provide:

Laser Cutting of glasses, sapphires, silicon wafers, ceramics and other fragile materials allowing a fast (up to 1 m/sec) and precise (submicron) cut of glass without any ejection of material, thus usable also in clean room. The main advantage is the production of glasses with no residual stress at their cutting edges. It means less fragile and more flexible glasses.

Laser Edge Chamfering replacing the usual machining with grinding-discs / emery-disks. Like Laser Cutting, this proprietary technology, other than for standard glasses, firstly for automotive applications, is also functioning for sapphire, silicon, ceramics, quartz, etc. By a 100 W laser, it is allowed an accurate shaping without any ejection of material at a speed up to 1 m/sec. As a result, Laser Edge Chamfering makes glass edges 5 times stronger than edges treated by the conventional machining method.

Laser Hardening of glasses (i.e. architectural, automotive, aerospace) providing a significant improvement to the current hardening processes. Common concept of surface hardening is replaced by a structural matrix hardening. Thus, slow and energy demanding chemical-thermal processes are replaced with a fast process in cold conditions, chemically free and environmental friendly.
